On The Road Again

10:45 AM Saturday July 18

We survived our going away party Friday night in Tulsa (just barely). We were hosted by our niece, Kathy and her husband, Pat and grandnephew, Kean and grandniece, Kylie. Our daughter, Shanon, her husband, Scott and grandson, Ashton joined in on the celebration. A great feast was prepared and a fierce game of Mexican Train followed the berry cobbler and ice cream.

Today, Stormy was once again released from it tether. The HHR was towed behind and Cindy followed in the Ford F-350 (our tow vehicle for the former 5th wheel RV). We were on the road again. Our first day’s journey brought us to Duncan, OK. Here we will visit with my mom, my brother, Tom, and his wife, Barbara. We arrived at the South 81 RV Park, (affectionately called the gravel pit) and checked in for a week. We settled into site # 4 (the grass burr site) and turned on both of Stormy’s A/Cs.

We have a busy week planned. We have appointments for our pre-departure check-ups with the doctors and the dentist on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We have made appointments to complete the dining area re-upholstery for Stormy at a local shop. We have to purchase new tires for the HHR. And then, at the end the week we have to move all of our earthly possessions out of Stormy along with the Ford into storage. We are taking only what we can stuff into the Chevrolet HHR (and that will not be much). It will be a long week.
