Chaper II: Another Mexico Adventure Begins

We had to say "goodbye" to our Cedar Creek 5th Wheel on June 18th, 2009

Now, we are going to say "goodbye" to Stormy when we travel through Houston, TX

In December of 2008, Cindy and I decided to spend the winter in Mexico RVing with Stormy (our Fleetwood motorhome). We asked those who had gone before to advise us on RVing in Mexico. Lynn, One of George and Ms. Tioga followers suggested that I read his blog (http://vagabonders-supreme.net). I have followed George’s adventures since December and continue to look forward to reading the blog. We left Oklahoma December 27 (2008) and toured Mexico until the end of March of this year. We traveled along the Gulf of Mexico, south along the Mexico/Guatemala border and returned to the USA by way of the Pacific Coast. His blog encouraged me to write one of my own. We returned back to the USA and decided to purchase a "home base" in Oklahoma. That thought lasted about three months. As July rolled around, we were not that excited about home ownership and its responsibilities. We wanted another adventure. We had been served an exciting lifestyle in Mexico and we hungered for more.

Once we did not want a “home base” to worry about we decided to be nomads at least one more season, maybe until March 2010. We considered a tour the Colorado Rockies, then, we changed our plans and decided to tour Red River, New Mexico. We changed our plans again and focused on Canada.

Well, our venture in Mexico still lingered in our minds, so we finally decided to return to Mexico and spend more time there. There was so much more to see, so much more to experience. An open itinerary really suits us best. As a result we decided to leave Tulsa, OK and journey to a city in Central Mexico, Tequisquiapan without our RV. We have rented a casita in Tequis (as the locals call it) for the month of August to experience Mexico at its best. We plan to have a great time!

Look at the website:
http://www.greatretirementspots.com/tequisquiapan-mexico-retirement.htm and you will get an overview of the area. View the second page (click on the bottom of the page) and you will discover why one family decided to retire in this colonial city. We plan to leave Saturday, July 18. We plan a stop in Oklahoma to visit with family and make final arrangements for our journey, then continue to Dallas and Austin (again visit with family), then cross the Border into Mexico somewhere outside of Laredo, TX. In just one day the journey begins. Wow!
